  • ASP Can’t Do Much

SAM tech you ASP 3.0Am writing ASP code recently, enhance an existing application. Compare with PHP, ASP is way too far to compare with, uncomparable, the string function is not much compare with PHP, date function too, resources and documentation is hard to get. But I believe ASP.NET is much more advance, but I don’t code in vb.

In case you have the same problem like me, can’t get good manual/documentation like what PHP has, may be you can try this site, at least I found what I wanted. If you are ASP coder, please suggest me some useful links to know more about ASP.

Oh ya, I scan though teach yourself ASP 3.0 in 21 days, pretty nice book for beginner.

  • Dragon Tiger Gate : 龍虎門

My friend asked me have I watched Dragon Tiger Gate? I said I didn’t, but I saw the trailler before, it looks very very… How to say it… Dramatic? Is like you kick wall it can break into 2 and you kick a person he can break into 4.

    The poster is quiet nice.

But I think it’s better Jacky Chan feature them as California Fitness poster 🙂

  • New add-on on my blog

Do you spot something different on my blog? You saw the picture beside the title? Yeah! I have added authors’ mugshot on my blog. The reason I did this is because most of the time, reader confuse who written the article and in the end they leave the comment to the wrong person.

Like recently, Ling has written about her life in Jakarta but some of my friend thought I am in Jakarta :(. Beside that, “shorty” said he is too handsome and afraid girl who visits this site will fall in love with him(ahem phui*), he has refused to put his mugshot.

I got the idea from Meebo’s Blog. Visit meebo, the coolest online messenger.

  • Remove IBM/Lenovo ThinkPad Hidden Partition

Since IBM/Lenovo ThinkPad laptop does not ships with recovery CDs/DVDs. The factory restore image is store in the hidden partition. If you buy a 40GB IBM ThinkPad, end up you only get 33.xGB hard disk space. For a laptop, 4GB disk space is a precious waste. Furthermore, for geekery people like us(ahem), it’s hardly for us to perform factory restore state.

In order to throw away the hidden disk space, first you have to go into BIOS to remove hidden partition protection in Security > PreDekstop something and select Disable. A scary warning message will popup when you choose to disable it, don’t worry, it’s just a warning message, it won’t make you naked. Just select Okay!

WARNING! Before you decided to format the hidden partition, please create recovery CDs/DVDs for the sake of factory restore thingy in the future. Click here to learn how to create IBM/Lenovo ThinkPad Recovery CDs/DVDs.

Now, you can run FreeBSD/Ubuntu/Fedora/Mac OS X/Gentoo/DesktopBSD on the additional partition and dual boot with Windows XP.
